Learn More about St. Matthias
In 2020 Maundy Thursday is April 9
Easter is April 12th

Picture
The Maundy Thursday service includes foot washing, and the commemoration of the original command to "Do this in remembrance of me" with a solemn Eucharist (mass).  The reserved sacrament is taken to the Altar of Repose in the chapel, where parish members keep vigil until midnight. Incense is used.

The Good Friday Stations of the Cross is a traditional service that walks through the points in Jesus' passion using the stations places around the sanctuary

The Good Friday Service commemorates the passion of Jesus  through reading of scripture, communion from the reserved sacrament, and the stripping of the altar.

The Holy Saturday Service reminds us of the time between the crucifixion and the resurrection when Jesus rested in the tomb and entered the realm of the dead to free us all.

THERE IS NO 5PM SERVICE ON THE SATURDAY BEFORE EASTER

The Great Vigil of Easter, celebrated with other Episcopal Churches in Waukesha County at the Noble Victory Memorial Chapel at St. John's Northwestern Military Academy in Delafield, contains multiple readings, the Holy Eucharist and Baptism. Incense is used.

The 8am Easter Service is Holy Eucharist in Sacred (Elizabethan) English.

The 10:15 Easter Service is Holy Eucharist with choral music.  Incense is used.

Children are welcome at all services - help them find meaning in the Easter Season!
